Tyla Malcolm

Tyla Malcolm is the owner of Parlour Hair Boutique in Prince Rupert. She attended the Blanche Macdonald Pro Hair program and graduated with the award for highest practical achievement. Immediately following her graduation she was hired at Volume Hair Studio as a stylist where she hustled to build her brand and pursue her passion for creative hair colouring. During her time at Volume she attended multiple advanced colour and cutting classes to enhance her skills. After a year and a half she enrolled in the Master Balayage class through the Hair by Namrood Salon. Following the class she was given the opportunity to work at the high- end boutique salon in Yaletown. There she focused on perfecting the art of the modern balayage.

Tyla decided to move back to Prince Rupert where she was originally from so she could pursue her dream of opening her own salon. She wanted to bring the Vancouver salon experience to Prince Rupert so she designed a modern boutique salon on the waterfront location. She hopes to create an overall lux experience for her guests by offering the best service, products and atmosphere. Tyla is overwhelmed by the support she has received since opening from the community and is excited to grow her business.

Grace Simonds

Born and raised here in Rainy Prince Rupert, I graduated at Charles Hays Secondary School with a Dual-Diploma in French Immersion. I utilized my graduation money to begin my Nail Technician Program online at home during COVID-19. I became a Certified Nail Technician in August 2021 and began my business in October 2021 here at Parlour Hair Boutique.

I am a hard-working, ambitious, and caring individual. When it comes down to my business, I feel like it’s an extension of me. You get the real me. I genuinely care about creating the perfect nails that my clients will love. I take my time to make sure the quality of your nails is the best while protecting your natural nails.

I look forward to meeting you!

Frankie + Ukee

Hi my name is Frankie (pictured right), I also go by Franklin when I’m in trouble…which is a lot! I love to cuddle and don’t understand what you hoomans call “personal space”. So if I end up on your lap while you’re getting your hair done, don’t be offended. Favourite activities include: snatching scrunchies, shopping in clients purses, and bugging my older brother.

Hello my name is Ukee (pictured left). Other aliases include Eugene or Ukelele… only when I’m being a good boy though. I will most likely greet you at the door, however, the couch and fuzzy blanket will be my dwelling. Perhaps if you’re lucky, I’ll grace your lap. Brownie points if you give me butt scratches or treatos.
